Assuring that your resume has impact. Prerequisite: Have a resume saved electronically.

E-mail Your Resume
Learn to e-mail your resume to employers. Prerequisite: Computer friendly –Have e-mail account – Have resume saved electronically.

Computers for Beginners
For customers with no computer skills. Prerequisite: Use “Mousercize” – Can “hunt & peck” on keyboard.

Finding Job Leads on the Internet
For customers who want access to jobs on the internet. Prerequisite: Basic computer skills – can scroll and do print commands.

On-Line Job Applications
Tips & Practice in completing an on-line job application. Prerequisite: Basic computer skills.

Interviewing Skills

What to do & not do in interviewing.
Prerequisite: Resume – Job focus – Doing active job search.

JOBSTART WORKSHOP
A 3 day nine hour workshop in steps for a successful job search. Prerequisite: Open to both members and non-members.

Video Assisted Mock Interviews
A 20 minute one-on-one practice interview session.
Prerequisite: Resume – Job Focus – Doing active job search.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Getting Started
Assistance for new customers who need to be introduced to personal computer use, setting up an email and getting a first time resume.
Prerequisite: no computer, resume, email capabilities.

Training Briefing
Determine personal eligibility for training grant funds. Steps in qualifying for grant tuition payments, choosing a school & working with a JobNet counselor.
Prerequisite: Must live in or have worked in Boston –be dislocated worker or economically disadvantaged.
Career Center membership required
JobCorps Orientation
Conducted for young persons who have previously registered for the Job Corps training program.
Prerequisite: Candidates must be age 16 to 24 and disadvantaged

Job Seeker Job Club
A weekly support group for job seekers to mutually share job search issues, network, and exchange useful information.

Career Center Seminar
A combination of job search seminar and center orientation. It is available to Unemployment Insurance Claimants who are notified to attend.
Prerequisite: Referral from DET

Health Insurance Consultation
A representative from Harbor Health Services Inc. provides counsel & assistance on finding and qualifying for affordable health care coverage.
Prerequisite: Open

Disability Program Navigator
Assistance to persons with disabilities who are seeking re-employment options. Prerequisite: Self Referral

Restart Forum
A workshop program for ex-offenders coping with re-entry into the workforce.
Prerequisite: Ex-offender status
