While there are many other valuable workshops
at JobNet, the ones listed below are the
essentials.

will take a commitment of time and energy.
But if you take each workshop in the order
they are listed, you will be equipped to
find a job.

Computers for Beginners
From
searching for Jobs on the Internet to
writing and editing your resume, EVERYONE
needs to know how to use the computer.
And it's not hard to learn the basics
in this workshop. Practice what you've
learned in the Resource Room using:

Tutor — You'll need typing
skills to type and edit your resume
and cover letter

Finding Job Leads on the Internet
If
you're not using the Internet to find
a job, you're not seeing the vast majority
of jobs out there. This workshop will
tell you where to find them. We'll show
you the best job search web site! You'll
need basic computer skills
and an email address
for the workshop.

Write Your Resume
EVERY
Job Seeker needs a resume. That's so important
it's worth saying again - EVERY Job Seeker
Needs a RESUME (and a GREAT LOOKING one
at that)! You'll learn how to create one
and save it to a disc in this workshop.

Improve Your Resume
Now
that you have a resume you need to make
sure it is strategic and competitive.
The resume needs to motivate the employer
to contact you. Learn the key points to
make this happen in this worksh

Email Your Resume
Now
your resume looks great and you've got
and you've got an e-mail account. The
employer preference is to make contact
through e-mail. Learn how to use your
mail account to electronically reach employers
with your qualifications and resume.

Interviewing Skills
Interviews
can be stressful. But you may be surprised
to see how much you can do to prepare
for them. When you can anticipate the
questions and understand what the interviewer
is looking for, you'll feel ready to present
yourself. This workshop will help you
do this!

On-Line Job Applications

job market is electronic and automated.
No matter what kind of work you do you
may be asked to apply using an application
form on the internet. Get the tips you
need to use the on-line job application
process.

Mock Interview
Practice
one-on-one with a seasoned interviewer.
